IFMA Orlando Hosts CFM Exam Review Class 
 
 
Our chapter hosted the CFM Exam Review class on March 26 and 27 with 12 students participating. During this course, all competency areas were covered in depth and Exam taking tips were discussed.  The course was facilitated by Geoff Allen, CFM, LEED AP who is an IFMA certified instructor.  Due our sponsor, Florida Cleaning Systems and our chapter's funds, the course was offered at 50% off the regular fee and included all meals!  We hope all of these students will be successful as they prepare take the exam!  We have two new CFMs-Fred Livingston, CFM-Wycliffe and Amie Erickson, CFM, FMP-Florida Municipal Power Agency

Editor: How did you get started in Facilities?

 

David: I was working as a contract project manager at Florida Power & Light down in South Florida. I developed a good reputation and when a spot came open for a Facility Manager I was asked if I would be interested in interviewing. I thoroughly enjoyed project management however the challenge of a new career path was very appealing.

 

Editor: How long have you been a member of IFMA?

 

David: At the recommendation of a mentor I joined IFMA back in 1996

IFMA Orlando Gives Back to Community
 
IFMA is a not for profit organization but is still able to give back to the community by donating our facility management talents and skills to organizations.  The first half of 2010, the Board of Directors have chosen the Central Florida Children's Home as our designated community organization.
